Carl enjoys the page where the big brother is pulling the baby in a wagon--because they're going on a 'bagel walk'。 Carl enjoys the page where the big brother is pulling the baby in a wagon--because they're going on a 'bagel walk'。 。。。more

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel with my eldest child, my son, for it reminded me of all that we discussed with him as we prepared for the arrival of our youngest child, my daughter。 This children's story was very well written and very well detailed at this young child prepared to become a big brother。 I highly recommend stories such as this one to be read with young children, especially if they relate to something going on in the young one's life。 It's hard to find "toddler" stories, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel with my eldest child, my son, for it reminded me of all that we discussed with him as we prepared for the arrival of our youngest child, my daughter。 This children's story was very well written and very well detailed at this young child prepared to become a big brother。 I highly recommend stories such as this one to be read with young children, especially if they relate to something going on in the young one's life。 It's hard to find "toddler" stories, but this one was well written and well illustrated。 I would definitely read another short-story by this author with my children。 。。。more

Adorable illustrations。

Perfect。 Especially considering the timing。 Jack probably would have been the caring, solicitous big brother that he is without this book。 But it certainly didn’t hurt。10/10

In this book, a little boy becomes a big brother。 He describes all of the new responsibilities that he gets and how excited he is to have a younger sibling。 The big brother helps feed his new sibling, change diapers, play, and put his new sibling to bed。 This book is great for children who have younger siblings or are about to become a big brother/sister。 It brings up a common change that children have difficulties with and talks about it in a fun, positive way。 Reading this book with a group of In this book, a little boy becomes a big brother。 He describes all of the new responsibilities that he gets and how excited he is to have a younger sibling。 The big brother helps feed his new sibling, change diapers, play, and put his new sibling to bed。 This book is great for children who have younger siblings or are about to become a big brother/sister。 It brings up a common change that children have difficulties with and talks about it in a fun, positive way。 Reading this book with a group of children is a great way to bring up families and enable children to share something about their families or siblings (this is something that I have noticed that many young children love to do)。 The book is a rhyming book, which makes it enjoyable to read and listen to。 Early readers will love guessing the rhyming word that comes at the end of each sentence/page。 This book is also good for children learning Spanish because it comes in a Spanish/dual language version。 A child beginning to learn Spanish would enjoy this book because the illustrations are simple and clearly depict the words。 Also, the words in the book are basic words that a child who is fairly new to the language could understand and enjoy。 。。。more

Rhyming text describes the duties of this new big brother。 The cartoon illustrations feature soft hues and delicate patterns, highlighting the sweet nature of the book。 The big brother is depicted as a toddler, which coupled with the simple text makes this book appropriate for the youngest of big siblings。 Children ages 0-3 who are preparing for the arrival of a new sibling will benefit from seeing the activities involved in having a baby that are portrayed in this book。 The topic and content ar Rhyming text describes the duties of this new big brother。 The cartoon illustrations feature soft hues and delicate patterns, highlighting the sweet nature of the book。 The big brother is depicted as a toddler, which coupled with the simple text makes this book appropriate for the youngest of big siblings。 Children ages 0-3 who are preparing for the arrival of a new sibling will benefit from seeing the activities involved in having a baby that are portrayed in this book。 The topic and content are nothing new to children’s literature, but this book still has a place in many collections。 。。。more

The child in this story is definitely excited about his baby brother。 He helps change the baby, wash the baby, and feed the baby。 I love the use of rhyming words in this book。 The illustrations are okay, although the family illustration cuts dad's face in half (creepy)。 The child in this story is definitely excited about his baby brother。 He helps change the baby, wash the baby, and feed the baby。 I love the use of rhyming words in this book。 The illustrations are okay, although the family illustration cuts dad's face in half (creepy)。 。。。more
